TERMS AND CONDITIONS
STUDIO MEMBERSHIP

What does Studio Membership consist of?

This programme is ideal for those who already have experience in ceramics or pottery and want to develop their projects independently. It's a great opportunity to perfect your technique and create your pieces surrounded by a community of artists.

At the Studio Membership, you'll have regular access to the studio, potter's wheel, materials and tools, clay, glaze, ceramic kiln and assistance from a ceramicist to answer any questions.

How much does it cost?

There are 2 payment options:

1 month - 230€;
3 consecutive months - €195 per month (€105 discount if you buy 3 consecutive months' membership in advance).

What’s included?

-Access to the studio once a week, 4 days a month, for up to 3 hours a day, during the agreed period. Total of up to 12 hours per month.

-Up to 5kg of clay.

-Underglazes and all the tools needed to create the pieces.

-Assistance from a ceramist to answer any questions, in Portuguese or English.*

-Access to the potter's wheel (limited to the number of existing wheels).

-Firing and low-temperature transparent glazing for pieces made in the studio that do not exceed 20cm in height. Firing and glazing of pieces above this height will cost extra.

-Shelves for temporary storage of pieces (up to 30 days) in the production process.

*If a class is taking place at the same time, the teacher may not be available to attend.

What is not included?

-Assistance for the full 3 hours. The assistant ceramist will answer questions and will not be responsible for the work usually carried out in the sessions, such as building pieces, teaching techniques, etc.

-Personal storage space and private shelves are not included.

-Extra clay. If you need more clay than the one supplied, you will be charged for the amount of clay requested, which already includes the firing and glazing.

-High-temperature glaze and clay. You can buy high-temperature clay at the studio. The price per kg already includes the kilns and transparent high-temperature glazes suitable for the paste.

-Firing and glazing of external pieces. This service can be requested separately.

Additional questions:

You must have the necessary experience to attend this course. If you do not, hALL reserves the right to cancel the current monthly fee and recommend one of the available courses so that you can deepen your knowledge.

If the clay or glaze used differs from the materials supplied by the studio, you must inform us of the temperature characteristics and glaze your own pieces. In this case, hALL cannot be held responsible for the results. You will have to sign a disclaimer regarding firing with external materials (external firing regulations). If the glaze melts or the clay sticks to the kiln, you will be responsible for the damage and will be charged for the repair or replacement of the shelves or other damaged parts of the kiln.

If you bring your own clay and low-temperature glaze to the workshop, the firing costs will not be charged. This is only valid for pieces made and glazed in the studio.

If the monthly membership ends and there is clay left over, it belongs to hALL, it does not accumulate for the next month and cannot be collected for use outside the studio. The clay will be reused or recycled. At the beginning of the next month, the agreed 5kg will be restored.

During the sessions, you are responsible for tidying up, maintaining and cleaning the materials, tools and machines you use. Your workspace must be left clean after the end of the session, during the 3-hour period (e.g. from 10am to 1pm, the space must be left clean and clear until 1pm).

Outside materials or tools may not be left in the studio.

Rescheduling terms and conditions:

Unused hours cannot be accumulated for subsequent days or months.

It is not possible to change the day and time agreed in the current month. You must guarantee your availability to attend during the period booked. When you renew the following month's modality, you will be able to select another day and time slot, subject to availability.

If you can't make it on the day booked, you can only reschedule the session that week, and only if there are vacancies in other membership periods (if another resident drops out). If there is no availability, hALL is not obliged to reschedule the session, which is then considered to have been used.

hALL may cancel up to 24 hours before the session is due to take place, in the event of unforeseen internal circumstances. A new date will be offered according to your availability.

Renewal of the monthly fee:

If you wish to renew your monthly fee, proof of payment must be sent as a form of booking by the 25th of the previous month. After this deadline and in the absence of proof and feedback, the place is automatically made available for a new resident, thus losing priority for the following month. If there is still a vacancy after the deadline, you can contact us to reserve your place.

If you don't want to continue in the membership, unfinished pieces must be completed before the end of the modality. Once finished, you will have up to 30 days to collect them. Unfinished pieces (not ready for firing or glazing) must be collected by the last day of membership.

Once these deadlines have passed and there has been no response to our contact, they will become the property of hALL.

Firing and collecting deadlines:

hALL is not responsible for pieces that break in the kiln. Although rare, this can happen for any number of reasons, at any level of learning.

It will not be possible to leave unfinished pieces on the shelves for an indefinite period. They must be finished during the sessions so that they can be fired and completed.

There is a time limit of up to 30 days for collecting pieces left on the shelves.
